Danielle’s Platform
1
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE LAKE DRIVE MULTI-USE PATHWAY?
I understand why residents want a safe place to walk and cycle along our waterfront, but I also understand the
concerns I’ve heard from people who live there.
I want us to look at what worked, what didn’t, the costs involved and what other options may exist. Residents directly affected need to be part of that conversation before future decisions are
made.
2
WHAT WOULD YOU DO ABOUT FLOODING AND DRAINAGE?
Flooding and drainage aren’t minor inconveniences when they repeatedly affect someone’s road, ditch or property.
I want problem areas properly identified and prioritized so we’re addressing the cause, not repeatedly dealing with the same complaint. Infrastructure decisions
should be based on safety, urgency and where the greatest problems exist.
3
HOW WOULD YOU IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH RESIDENTS?
Communication starts with being accessible. I plan to serve as Councillor full-time, hold regular office hours, keep my contact information readily available and use my newsletter to help residents stay informed about what’s happening in Georgina.
I also want to stay connected personally. I’ll
continue knocking on doors after the election,
getting to know residents and what matters to
them. When an issue comes up that I know affects or interests someone, I want to be able to reach out directly. My goal is simple: you should know who your
Councillor is, know how to reach me, and feel
comfortable doing it.
4
WHAT ABOUT PROPERTY TAXES AND AFFORDABILITY?
Every tax dollar matters, especially when households are already dealing with
higher everyday costs.
I want to understand where the money is going, question spending when necessary and look at available grants,
reserves, development charges and other funding sources before automatically
putting more pressure on taxpayers. At the same time, we still have to maintain
the roads, infrastructure and services people rely on.
5
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE?
I want decisions based on actual conditions and resident experience.
That means identifying the roads and areas with the greatest safety, accessibility and infrastructure problems,
prioritizing them and developing a realistic plan for getting the work done.
We can’t fix everything at once, but residents should understand what comes first, why and how it will be funded.
6
HOW WOULD YOU SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES?
I want to hear directly from businesses about what is making it harder for them
to operate and grow here. That includes looking at unnecessary barriers, helping businesses understand available programs and resources, promoting local
businesses and encouraging residents to shop locally.
I also want Georgina to be a place where entrepreneurs and home-based businesses have opportunities to succeed.
