About Danielle
Danielle Cohen has always been someone who sees possibilities where others see challenges. From a young age, she was drawn to entrepreneurship, creativity, and finding practical ways to make things better. Whether she was creating small business ideas, organizing neighbourhood projects, or developing sales pitches as a teenager, she enjoyed turning ideas into action. That curiosity, resourcefulness, and determination continue to shape everything she does today.
As soon as Danielle was old enough to work, she did. By the age of 17, she was living on her own, working full-time, and later returned to complete an Honours Diploma in International Business and Marketing. Those experiences taught her independence, resilience, responsibility, and the importance of creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.
Danielle has proudly called Georgina home for more than a decade. She has built her life here, raised her family here, volunteered in the community, and created initiatives that bring residents together. Her decision to run for Ward 3 Councillor comes from a genuine commitment to the community she calls home and a desire to help shape its future through thoughtful leadership and responsible growth.
Throughout her career, Danielle has built experience in marketing, leadership, sales, and real estate. She helped develop sales programs and marketing initiatives used across Ontario, contributed to the launch of the SCENE rewards program, led teams, and has helped families navigate important financial decisions as a licensed Realtor since 2010. Across every role, one thing has remained consistent—she enjoys understanding complex issues, solving problems, recognizing opportunities, and helping people make informed decisions.
Community leadership has always been a natural extension of that passion.
Danielle founded Finding a Way to help connect people with community resources and support. She also created the Georgina-Wide Garage Sale, bringing residents, families, organizations, and local businesses together through a community-wide initiative built from the ground up. Through York Region Singles and Singles Events Ontario, she has created opportunities for people to build friendships, meaningful relationships, and stronger community connections. She has also supported her community through fundraising initiatives, volunteer projects, youth sports, and local organizations. Whether launching a new initiative or strengthening an existing one, Danielle believes strong communities are built by people who are willing to get involved.
Throughout her career and volunteer work, one philosophy has remained constant. Danielle believes leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about listening, understanding different perspectives, doing the research, following through, and working collaboratively to find practical solutions. She believes the best ideas don't have to be her own and that the strongest decisions are made when residents are part of the conversation.
Danielle is running for Ward 3 Councillor because she believes residents deserve a representative who is prepared, approachable, and accountable. She is committed to listening carefully, communicating openly, respecting every tax dollar, and making informed decisions that reflect the needs of the community. Above all, Danielle believes local government works best when it builds on our strengths, embraces new opportunities, and always puts people first.
